Privacy Policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This policy explains what information Glass collects, why, who helps us handle it, how long we keep it, and your rights. It covers the Glass app for Mac, the website at glasseditor.app, and the Glass server the app talks to (together, "Glass").
Glass is made by Dennis, doing business as Clipfinder ("we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use Glass. Questions: support@clipfinder.org.
The short version
- Your recordings stay on your Mac. Your video, the sound your Mac plays, your projects and your exported videos are not uploaded to us. To edit a take, Glass sends only what the AI needs, such as your microphone audio, still frames and the text on screen.
- The AI models that edit your take keep nothing of it, and we do not train AI on your content. Turning your voice into text is done by ElevenLabs, under its own policy (section 4).
- Keys and passwords on your screen are masked on your Mac before anything is sent to AI.
- "Help improve Glass" is optional. You can turn it off in Settings at any time, and then nothing from it is sent.
- We do not sell your information. The website uses Google's advertising tag to measure our ads (section 5); the app has no advertising trackers.
- You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. What we collect
- Account information. Your email address, the date you signed up and the IP address you signed up from. You sign in with a code sent to your email, or with Apple or Google, which tell us your email address.
- How you heard about Glass, if you choose to answer when you sign up.
- Usage and diagnostics. Which features you use, errors, crash and freeze reports, performance, setup and sign-in steps, update steps, export settings, and your app version, macOS version and kind of Mac. This is linked to your account. It never includes your video, audio, screen or what you type.
- AI requests. To edit a take, the app sends what each step needs: microphone audio (so it can be turned into a transcript), the transcript, still frames, the text on screen, the names of things you click, the current edit, voiceover text and your chat messages. Our server passes these to the AI services in section 4 and does not keep the frames or audio. We keep a record of each request's cost and outcome, with no content, to count your monthly AI allowance.
- Content you choose to share. With "Help improve Glass" on (it is on unless you turn it off), a text record of how Glass edited your takes, your chats with Glass-chan, and what you did with Glass's edits. If you send feedback, your message and, unless you turn it off, a text record of how Glass edited that take. These records are masked like everything else and never include video, frames or audio.
- Website analytics. Pages you visit, how you found the site, and what you click there, including session recordings of how you use the website (scrolling, clicks, mouse movement and what is on the page; anything you type is hidden), errors and page speed. The website stores an analytics cookie and a few values in your browser so we can tell a returning visitor from a new one and which link brought you. Google's advertising tag on the website records visits and clicks, including from our ads.
- Billing. If you subscribe, Stripe handles payment. We receive your plan, billing history and payment status, never your card number.
- Messages to us, by email or on Discord.
Keys and passwords are masked on your Mac. Before anything is sent to AI, Glass looks for API keys, tokens, private keys, passwords and addresses with a password in them, replaces them in the text with a label, and blacks them out in the frames. Detection is automatic and can miss things, and your screen can show other private things too, so please only record what you are allowed to share.
2. How and why we use it
We use your information to provide Glass (sign-in, the AI edit, chat and voiceovers), to count AI allowances and prevent abuse, to support you, to find bugs and improve Glass, to tell you about changes, to bill you, and to meet legal duties. We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not use your information for advertising.
Where EU, EEA, UK or Swiss law applies, our legal bases are: contract (to provide Glass), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, usage and diagnostics, and improving Glass, which you can object to), consent (where we ask for it, which you can withdraw), and legal obligation.
3. What stays on your Mac
Your recordings, full audio, projects, edit history and exported videos are stored only on your Mac. We have no copy and cannot recover them for you, so back up anything you want to keep.
4. Who helps us handle it
We share information only with the companies that help us run Glass, and only what each needs:
- OpenRouter, which sends our AI requests only to AI providers that keep no data, to describe and edit your take.
- ElevenLabs, for speech to text and stock-voice voiceovers. It keeps what it receives under its own policy.
- Supabase, our database and sign-in.
- Vercel, which hosts our website and server.
- Trigger.dev, which runs chat requests and scheduled jobs.
- Cloudflare, which serves app downloads and updates, and holds a long take's microphone audio briefly while it is transcribed.
- PostHog, for app and website analytics.
- Google, for advertising: the website's Google Ads tag, which measures visits and clicks from our ads.
- Stripe, for payments.
- Discord, for private notes to us about signups, feedback, billing and errors.
- Apple and Google, if you sign in with them.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect rights or safety, or if the business changes hands. We do not sell your personal information. The website's Google Ads tag shares visit and click information with Google to measure our ads, which some US state laws treat as sharing for targeted advertising; you can opt out (section 9).
Zero data retention with OpenRouter. Every request Glass makes through OpenRouter requires zero data retention, so the AI models that edit your take do not store it or train on it.
5. Cookies and Do Not Track
The website uses an analytics cookie (section 1) and Google's advertising cookies, which measure visits and clicks from our ads. You can delete them in your browser's settings. The app has no advertising cookies or trackers. The app does not record your screen for analytics.
6. How long we keep it
- Your account and AI usage records: while your account is open.
- "Help improve Glass" records: 180 days, then deleted automatically.
- Feedback: 2 years, then deleted automatically.
- Notes in our private Discord channel: until we delete them.
- Analytics, server logs and chat jobs: for our providers' retention periods.
- Frames and audio sent to edit: not stored. A long take's audio is deleted once it is transcribed, and within a day at most.
When you delete your account, we delete it and the records linked to it, except a small record we need for the law or to prevent abuse. Backups expire on their own schedule.
7. Security
Glass uses encrypted connections, and only our server can read our database. Keeping your recordings on your Mac keeps the most sensitive part off our systems. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
8. Children
Glass is for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
9. Your rights and choices
You can turn off "Help improve Glass" in Settings, turn off the edit record when you send feedback, and turn off Glass's Screen Recording, Microphone or Accessibility access in macOS System Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your information, to object to or restrict how we use it, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of sale or targeted advertising (we do not sell; to opt out of the website's Google Ads tag, email us). We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
To use them, or to delete your account, email support@clipfinder.org from the address on your account. We will confirm it is you and answer within the time the law requires. If we decline, you can appeal by replying, and you can complain to your local data protection authority or state attorney general.
California and other US states. In the past 12 months we collected identifiers, commercial information (subscriptions), internet activity, approximate location from IP address, and audio and visual information sent to AI to edit your takes, as described above. We did not sell it. The website's Google Ads tag shared internet activity (visits and clicks) with Google to measure our ads, which these laws may treat as sharing for targeted advertising; email us to opt out.
10. International transfers
We are in the United States, and our providers may process information in other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top, and tell you in the app or by email before a change to what is sent or kept.
